Mitsuwa Market Field Trip

I'm not sure how common spring break field trips are at other colleges, but this is the first time I've ever heard of or participated in one. Not that I'm complaining because going to an Asian market is always an awesome field trip idea.

There were a ton of traditional things like kimonos, wooden swords, and tea sets.

Then there were the modern things. The makeup, skincare, snacks, and magazines that you could only find on line were all over the place.

Gyaru heaven!!!!
I normally pay $22 for a Ageha on ebay, but here they were all under ten dollars!! To say I felt cheated by ebay is an understatement at best.

Of course the manga stores were very well stocked with both English and Japanese volumes.
I don't think I've ever seen so many manga volumes in my life actually.

There special picture books for not only the manga but also anime new and old.

You can't shop in an Asian market without purchasing ramen. And if ramen really isn't your style there are a ton of noodles that you could try. For me the large selection of ramen was a highlight of the trip.

The Bento recipe books were great. All the bento were soo kawaii and simple to make. I plan on using some of these recipes soon so be on the lookout for my post on them.

Ramune is a super popular drink in Japan as well as here in the states. I had no idea there were so many flavors.

Seeing all the Japanese makeup brands in person was like a dream come true. I bought a ton of new lashes and skin care products.

I don't plan on dyeing my hair at the moment, I had fun seeing the different shades of Palty. I think I would try a nice soft ash grey shade the next time I dye my hair though.

The food was the best. There was such a huge variety of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cuisine. In the end we decided to get Korean!!!!

We ate at a place called MAMA House and everything was really good. I decided to try a famous Korean dish called "Duk Bo Ki". It's really popular in the Hongdae area. Duk Bo Ki, is sweet rice cake in a spicy sauce. The contrast between the two was awesome!!

For the EXO fans here, check out the boys in Hongdae enjoying some Duk Bo Ki. A quick rundown if you can't understand- Kris doesn't want to eat the spicy food because it isn't "his style" but Baekhyun won't take no for an answer. Kris said the same thing previously about chicken but things changed once he started eating.

That's all for now I hope you guys enjoyed. What kind of field trips did take this year? How was your spring break? Have you tried any new foods lately?

Skincare #1

Hey Dolls,
I'm back again and ready to welcome the new year with a fresh, clean and clear face. As you know, one very important part of being a Ulzzang is to have clear and flawless skin, so I've decided to end this year with a clean slate. The products I've used are all so amazing I really can't believe how affordable they were or how easy it was to acquire them.

#1- Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
This was the first product I'd ever purchased specifically for my dark spots, and I was really pleased with it. I used it every night before bed and within the first two weeks I could really see the results. Not all skin types are the same you it may be a bit longer for others to see results. This is so small, I was able to carry it around with me in my purse for quick touch ups at work or before dance class. Since this was my first dark spot treatment I can't say for sure if its at all the best and I'm not too sure if I'll repurchase in 2014, it is definitely a good starter product.
Score: 7/10

#2- Neutrogena Oil- Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Scrub
I actually heard about this product about a million times in numerous magazines such as Allure, Seventeen, Cosmo Girl, Teen Vogue, and a ton of others. To this day I still don't know why I haven't tried it until now, but I'm glad I finally did. Let's just say I've never heard a bad review about it and all the good things I heard were so very true. It was very gentle on my skin and it smelled great. It didn't leave my skin too dry and it really took care of the excess oils. I will say that I wish more came in the tube however. But overall, I will definitely purchase this again in 2014!!
Score: 10/10

#3- Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser
I honestly think this is the best skin care product I've ever used!! Not only did it clear my acne and dark spots, it also evened out my skin tone and left my face feeling totally clean and refreshed.
It did dry me out a bit more than I would have liked but it was nothing a moisturizer couldn't fix. Moisturizer should be applied after facial cleansing anyway, so it wasn't like I had to go out of my way or anything. This product has been featured in a ton of magazines and won numerous awards as well. I will without a doubt repurchase this product in 2014!!!!
Score: 100/10

WRLR Radio Event- Santa Chrstmas Speacial

Hey dolls,
I hope your enjoying your holidays so far, I am, and I'm also enjoying all the fun holiday events I've had to cover for the radio.
This event was a Santa Supper and Holiday Crafts fair.
There was so much delicious food during the supper and pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Clause, but my favorite part was the crafts fair.
It was so cool to see all the wonderful handmade items available.
Items range from jewelry to handmade snow globes, quilted pillows and blankets and stuffed anumals, to homemade treats. Healing crystals, origami made with dollar bills and Mary Kay.
I even had an interview with some of the beauty queens  during the event.

I was really impressed and loved seeing the community come together and put on such a wonderful event.

My First Trip To The Aquarium

For some people it may be a little late in life to be making your first trip to the aquarium, but I don't think I care too much as I've never been more excited. Although my original plan was to visit the Zoo, the aquarium was a very nice alternative. I couldn't have asked for better weather.

I really loved the architecture of the main lobby. It reminded me of an old palace.

I saw a lot of things that really didn't expect see. For starters, I didn't know they had monkeys at an aquarium. Now I'm no animal expert, but I don't think monkeys are very aquatic creatures.

The insects were also a surprise. I really don't think I would be this brave around a tarantula if it wasn't in a case.

And now on to the fish.

The eels and sting ray were one of my favorites. Looking at their smiling faces underneath always makes me happy.

I don't even wanna know what it took to get that anaconda there.

A lot of the kids were really disappointed by how small the whales were. I thought they were super cute.

Sea horses and penguins!!!!!

seals and Otters!!!!

I think we spent most of our time looking at the jellyfish. Watching the electricity flow through their bodies was really amazing!!

Your day at the aquarium is never complete without checking out the water show. Fortunately, we didn't sit close enough to get splashed by them.

Hope you guys are enjoying your spring!!!! See you next time!!
